What is the difference between signing up for a course and a single class?
Courses run as multi-week classes, whereas classes occur on one single occasion. As long as you are a registered member, you can attend either of these options!
Is there accessible parking available at the venue?
Yes! We have a parking lot outside of the Vernon Cottage where classes are held.
I am often away or busy and cannot attend many of the workshops, how can I stay involved?
There are no minimum attendance requirements. We keep the cost low because we know that no one can attend all classes.
How will I know if a class has been canceled?
We will make every effort to notify members via email if a class has been canceled. Alternatively, please check the right-hand side of our homepage for updates on classes. In case of bad weather, CLIR follows the UConn closing policy, announced on local radio and TV stations: if they cancel, we cancel; if they have late opening, we cancel morning class, if they have early closing, we cancel afternoon class. If in doubt, contact the UConn information https://emergencymanagement.universitysafety.uconn.edu/
I do not use email. How can I register and stay informed about classes?
You can register for classes by mail! Just print out and cut the registration form found on the CLIR flyer and mail the form and check/money order to:
UConn Extension/CLIR
1376 Storrs Road, Unit 4036
Storrs, CT 06269-4036
How do I find out if I am a current member and up to date with my membership dues?
Please email CLIR@uconn.eduto check the status of your enrollment for each semester. You can also call 860-774-9600.
If I sign up for a course do I have to attend all of the classes?
While we encourage you to attend as many classes as you can in a course, there is no attendance requirement.
How long does a session last?
Each session lasts for the duration of the season it corresponds with. For example, the 2024 Spring session ran from the beginning of April to mid-June.
